Tech firm set to boost digital literacy in schools – Punch Newspapers



Product Hub Africa has stated that it is offering free tech trainings to secondary schools, to boost digital literacy in the country.

The firm explained  that its programme, Stem-A-School, is currently in its first phase is targeted at secondary school students in public schools and low-income private schools in Nasarawa state.

 In a statement, Chief Executive Officer, Product Hub Africa, Temitope Oladosu, said, “In order to bridge the gaps between the haves and the have-nots, Product Hub Africa is currently offering free tech training for secondary school students below the affordability spectrum.

“So that they can be empowered to stand shoulder-to-shoulder beside their ‘privileged’ equals. To build a greater Nigeria, we need all hands on deck.”

The firm stated that selected students for its programme are mostly in SS2 and SS3 because the students are at the transitioning stage of their education and can choose career paths. The firm further noted that since its recent boot camp for aspiring tech professionals had 2,000 applications from 15 African countries.

The firm added that it has also been able to offer free courses like product management, product design, web development, technical writing, developer relations, cybersecurity, and digital marketing to aspiring professionals since it launched.
