Superstar comedian Kevin Hart Officially declines hosting the Oscars

Comedian Kevin Hart

Superstar comedian Kevin Hart has articulated his decision to abstain from hosting the Oscars. Explaining that he finds comfort in performing stand-up in packed arenas and stadiums, Hart emphasized that a theater full of A-listers presents a challenging environment for comedians. According to Hart, the Oscars successfully experimented with a co-hosting approach in 2019, the year he withdrew, utilizing various personalities to host the ceremony throughout the evening.

Despite his acknowledged advantage in hosting award shows due to his established relationships with guests, the Oscars have not reverted to that formula. Hart, initially announced as the host for the 2019 Oscars, faced controversy when previous homophobic tweets surfaced before the ceremony. In response to the backlash, the actor chose to step down from his hosting duties, a decision that still stands.
