The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested Inyangake James Peter, aged 40, for the murder of his 70-year-old mother, Mma-Offiong James Peter, in Etim Ekpo Local Government Area.
The spokesperson, CPS Odiko Macdon, disclosed this in a statement on Monday, April 15, 2024, expressing concern over the alarming trend of family members killing their own.
According to Macdon, the suspect claimed to have obeyed a voice instructing him to kill his mother.
The statement further detailed the circumstances, mentioning that the suspect confessed and has been transferred to the State CID for thorough investigation.
Upon completion, he will face charges in court.
