Renewed Fighting in Gaza as Ceasefire Comes to an End.

Intense Airstrikes.

Fierce fighting broke out in Gaza on Friday as a one-week ceasefire ended. Israel resumed its intense airstrikes on suspected Hamas positions in the densely populated Palestinian territory.

According to the health ministry in Gaza, which is controlled by Hamas, 29 people were killed in the first few hours after the pause in fighting ended at 0500 GMT.

Combat resumed shortly after the Israeli army reported intercepting a rocket fired from Gaza.

This was the first rocket from Gaza since a missile was launched just minutes into the start of the truce on November 24.

As reported by AFP on Friday, December 1, the armed wing of the group received orders to restart fighting and protect the Gaza Strip.

Heavy combat was observed in various areas of Gaza City.
