Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, aka Portable, tried to dodge arrest by leaping over a gate as officers from the Lagos State Police Command closed in on him. The arrest stemmed from a complaint filed by a car dealer whom Portable owed money for a N27 million G-Wagon.
Despite making an initial payment, Portable failed to settle the remaining amount and claimed the vehicle was faulty. In a video circulating on social media, Portable can be seen chatting with officers before swiftly escaping over a nearby gate.
Confirming the arrest, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, stated that Portable was arrested for defaulting on payment for the G-Wagon.
This isn’t Portable’s first brush with the law; in 2023, he faced assault allegations from a former signee, leading to his arrest and arraignment. Portable gained fame with his 2021 hit single “Zazoo Zehh,” featuring rapper Olamide.
