The arrest of Morekeji “Keji” Olamilekan, who allegedly assaulted his ex-wife, Mary Ololuwa, by hitting her with a stone due to her marking their children for ‘spiritual protection,’ has been confirmed by the Lagos State Police Command.
On Thursday, Jan 25 around 3pm, The incident which resulted in Mary Ololuwa being hospitalized, was reported as a case of domestic violence to the Owode Onirin Police Division.
Following the assault, witnesses apprehended Keji and turned him over to the police. SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the command’s spokesperson, stated that the victim, bleeding from injuries allegedly inflicted by the suspect, was brought to the station by sympathizers. Mary Ololuwa provided a detailed account of the incident at the police station, narrating how Keji attacked her with a large stone around 2:00 p.m. on Thursday near Bako Estate at Weighbridge Ajegunle. The spokesperson confirmed the arrest of the suspect, who is currently in custody.
Additionally, the stones used in the assault were recovered as evidence, and SP Hundeyin mentioned that the case would be transferred to the Gender Unit of the command for further investigation.
