Oyo Amotekun arrests man for defrauding hospital patients and escaping with treatment funds.

Amotekun Corps personnel in Oyo State rescued a 40-year-old suspected conman, Bukola Adewale, from an angry mob after he attempted to flee with money meant for patients at Adeoyo Hospital in Ibadan.

Adewale, who was apprehended by the Amotekun Corps, had targeted an elderly man and a woman under the guise of assisting them with their health needs.

Known for previous scams in hospitals, Adewale’s return to the scene of his crimes led to his capture.

Mr. Kazeem Babalola Akinro, second-in-command of Amotekun Corps in Oyo, confirmed the incident, detailing Adewale’s modus operandi and his confession to extorting money from patients.

Victims shared their close calls with Adewale’s schemes, while hospital staff corroborated his pattern of deception. Adewale, reflecting on his actions, expressed regret and a desire for redemption.
