NSF gold medallist Kolade seeks African Games glory

Kebbi State’s Bright Kolade, who won a gold medal in the 74kg taekwondo at the ongoing National Sports Festival in Asaba, has already set his sights on winning his event at next year’s African Games.

Kolade said winning the gold medal at the continental sports showpiece would spur him onto the international scene.

“My target is first to win the National Sports Festival gold and I have done that. My next dream is to win at the African Games in 2023,” he said.

“I can tell you that the G-4 Taekwondo tournament I participated in, in Rwanda, opened my eyes to so many things that I needed to learn.

“The experience I picked from there was what I used in the festival to become a champion.”
