Notorious Killer in Rivers State walks into the Police Trap.

The Rivers State Police Command has disclosed the apprehension of Samuel Nwokoma, a notorious cultist, in connection with a series of killings and armed robberies within the Diobu axis of Port Harcourt and neighboring areas.

SP Grace Iringe-Koko, the command’s spokesperson, revealed that Nwokoma, aged 25, along with his gang, was implicated in the murders of two youths in the Diobu area of Mile 1, Port Harcourt, during assaults between March 14 and 17, 2024.

Iringe-Koko stated, “Nwokoma has been identified as being involved in a series of cult-related killings within the Diobu axis of Port Harcourt.” The arrest was made possible through collaborative efforts between operatives of the C4i Strike Force and local vigilantes, leading to a raid on the ‘Blood Star’ cult gang’s camp and the recovery of arms and ammunition.

She further elaborated that during interrogation, Nwokoma confessed to his involvement in specific incidents, including the fatal shooting of Ede Sunday, 32, at Nanka Street on March 14, and George Johnson, 28, at Ojoto Street on March 16.

“On the 14th of March, 2024, at approximately 2030hrs, he and his gang attacked and fatally shot Ede Sunday, a 32-year-old male, at Nanka Street by Lomumba, Dioubu, Port Harcourt. On the 16th of March, 2024, at approximately 2035hrs, they also shot George Johnson, a 28-year-old male, in the chest at Ojoto Street by Emenike, Diobu, Port Harcourt,” she added.

Moreover, Nwokoma assisted police operatives in locating the gang’s hideout at Ogwu Waterside in Diobu, Port Harcourt, where a significant quantity of arms, ammunition, and explosive devices were recovered. “The recovered items include three AK-47 rifles, one assault rifle, six AK-47 magazines, one Beretta pistol, 274 rounds of 7.6mm live ammunition, 105 rounds of 6.55 live ammunition, nine rounds of .9mm ammunition, seven packets of Improvised Explosive Devices, one long detonating wire, and various types of charms,” Iringe-Koko outlined.

The statement underscored the significance of this recovery in neutralizing immediate threats to public safety and reaffirmed the Rivers State Police Command’s commitment to combat violent crimes in the community, with assurances of efforts to apprehend all individuals involved in such criminal activities.
