Nigerian women appeal to President Tinubu for assistance as they struggle with hunger caused by the high cost of living.

Amidst ongoing economic hardships, more Nigerians are reaching out to President Tinubu for assistance with their plight. In an interview with the Guardian, two women voiced their distress over the escalating cost of living.

One of the women, who claimed to have voted for President Tinubu in the 2023 elections, pleaded, “President Bola Tinubu, we all cast our votes for you, hoping for your assistance.

We’re hungry! As you can see, I’m carrying a heavy load on my head. I’ve walked a long distance with it because I couldn’t afford the transportation fare to my destination.

Please have compassion for the poor and the masses. We turned out in droves to support you.

I personally voted for you in the hope that you would emerge victorious. But now, we’re hungry!”

In another interview, a different woman echoed similar sentiments:

“We’re starving! A tin of rice now costs N1,200, while a five-liter container of vegetable oil is priced at N7,000. Tinubu, is this acceptable? Everything has become unaffordable. We’re starving.

Have mercy on the poor. Show us compassion so that we don’t perish from hunger. Please, don’t let us suffer.”
