The Nigerian government has officially reopened the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos State. After a one-month closure for maintenance work, commuters can now utilize the bridge again. The announcement of the reopening was made on Thursday by Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the Commissioner for Transportation in Lagos State.

“We are pleased to announce that parts of the Third Mainland Bridge which were closed last month will reopen today 21st December, 2023 by 6 pm,” he said.

He mentioned that the whole bridge is now open for public use, ensuring better connectivity and safe travel.

Additionally, he expressed gratitude to Nigerians for their patience during the month-long closure, acknowledging the inconvenience it may have caused. Osiyemi emphasized that the reopening demonstrates the government’s dedication to maintaining infrastructure and ensuring public safety.

This comes more than a month after the Federal Government, through the Ministry of Works, declared the closure of two ramps of the Third Mainland Bridge for repairs.
