Niger state arrests six, including a 10-year-old, for suspected phone snatching, robbery, and thuggery.


Niger State Police Command apprehends six suspected phone snatchers, robbers, and thugs in Minna, along with another individual from Katcha.

According to SP Wasiu Abiodun, the command’s spokesperson, the suspects, including a 10-year-old, allegedly burglarized a residence in Minna and stole mobile phones.

Abiodun stated, “Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects broke into a residence within Kutirko-Fadikpe area of Minna, where they stole iPhones and Redmi note phones, among other instances of phone snatching and robbery they were involved in.”

He added, “They confessed to the crime and admitted to selling the phones to individuals in Rafin-Yashi, Odu’oye Quarters, and Darusalam areas.”

Additionally, Aliyu Usman from Badeggi town, Katcha, was apprehended for possession of a victim’s android phone, suspected to have been obtained through robbery. All suspects are currently under investigation.
