Napoli Set to Include €140 Million Release Clause in Osimhen’s New Deal.

Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen, is set to have a release clause of €140 million in a one-year Napoli contract extension after an agreement was reportedly reached by the Nigerian’s camp for a contract extension till June 2026, reports say.

Osimhen’s current deal runs out in June 2025, and he has been linked with several top European clubs.

It was reported on Wednesday that Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, met with Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis over the future of the reigning Africa Footballer of The Year.

De Laurentiis had claimed a few days ago that he had reached an agreement to extend Osimhen’s stay at the Stadio Maradona.

According to highly regarded, European transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Napoli initially aspired to secure a fresh two-year contract for the Super Eagles’ prominent striker, whose existing agreement is set to conclude in June 2025. However, they ultimately settled for a one-year extension. Romano further disclosed that the Nigerian striker is slated to receive a substantial salary increase as part of his new deal.

“Napoli reached an agreement in principle with Victor Osimhen on a new contract with a release clause between €130m and €140m in his new deal,” Romano wrote on X.

“It will be valid until June 2026, one more year and the Nigerian’s release clause will be around €130m.”


The 24-year-old, who triumphed over competition from Egypt captain Mohamed Salah and Morocco defender Achraf Hakimi, is anticipated to mark his 95th Serie A appearance for Napoli during their upcoming match against Cagliari at the Diego Maradona stadium on Saturday.

Since his arrival in Italy in 2020, the former Lille and Wolfsburg striker has notched up an impressive record of 56 Serie A goals and 14 assists.
