DU BEd Entrance Test

Delhi University conducts entrance test for admission into four BEd courses. More information in the following table:

Bachelor of Education (Special Education- Visual Impairment)
Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed.)
Eligibility for BEd Exam Candidates need to fulfil the following prerequisites: 
1.Must possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in
Science, Humanities, Commerce with a minimum
of 50% of marks.
Further, candidates with degrees of B.Tech/ B.E degree
[minimum 55% of marks with specialization in
Science and Mathematics] are also eligible for admission.

OR
At least 55% marks in an undergraduate degree
in Engineering or Technology or else in any
specialization in Science and Mathematics
with a minimum of 55% marks or any other equivalent qualification.

2. Eligibility for choosing Subject
Category & Teaching Subject:
Candidate must choose one subject category
and only one teaching subject (within the subject category)
from Table 1* which she/he must have studied
in the qualifying degree i.e. Bachelor’s/ Master’s
Degree for at least 200 marks and secured a
minimum of 50% marks in this subject.

TISS BEd Entrance Test

In collaboration with the Centre for Education, Innovation and Action Research, the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai offers a 3-year integrated BEd-MEd course. It also offers an MA Education. Major points of information related to the BEd exams for these courses are:

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree [3/4 years duration]

of 15 years formal education) from
a University Grants Commission (UGC) of India
recognised university.

BHU BEd Entrance Test

Banaras Hindu University offers two BEd courses which have specific subject-related eligibility criteria. Know more about the BEd exams and related prerequisites are as follows:

Courses B. Ed. (Bachelor of Education)-1 year
B. Ed. (Bachelor of Education [Spl.])-1 year
Eligibility for BEd Exam Graduate with a minimum aggregate marks
of 50% marks under 10+2+3 pattern [including Shastri]
considering all the subjects in three years except
those wherein only pass marks are required and
which do not count towards the total in
the final (degree) marksheet.
The applicant must have at least one School discipline*
at the graduation level as a main discipline**. 

OR 

M.A./M.Sc./M.Com./Acharya with at least
50% marks in aggregate. The applicant
must have at least one school subject at
the graduation or post-graduation level as the main subject.

Eligibility Criteria for BEd Entrance Exam 2023

The eligibility criteria for those who want to pursue BEd need to qualify certain criteria. Take a look here:

  • To pursue a BEd, the minimum percentage required varies from one university to other. For some institutions, the minimum percentage to have achieved in bachelor’s course is 50% to be eligible for BEd CET, however, some institutions have the minimum percentage at 55%.
  • Candidates who wish to qualify to be eligible for BEd must have a Bachelors degree from an established and recognised university.
  • The age of candidates who wish to appear for BEd exam must be 19 years or above.
  • Candidates who have a Masters degree in any field – Arts, Humanities and Science can also appear for the BEd exam. However, they are required to have a minimum percentage of 50% and above.

After earning a bachelor’s degree in education, you can pursue a variety of careers.

CTET, UPTET, APTET, and TSTET are examples of teacher eligibility tests (TETs). For teaching in central government institutions like Kendriya Vidyalaya, the Central Eligibility Test (CTET) is required.
