Buckingham Palace announced that King Charles III will resume select public duties this week after a three-month hiatus for cancer treatment.

Despite ongoing battles with cancer, the 75-year-old monarch will visit a cancer treatment center on Tuesday, April 30, followed by other public appearances in the coming weeks.

His upcoming engagements include hosting a state visit by the emperor and empress of Japan in June. The palace reports his doctors are ‘very encouraged’ by his progress, though the duration of his treatment remains uncertain.

King Charles III will maintain all state duties, including meetings with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

The palace expressed gratitude for the support received during this challenging time, refuting claims of his deteriorating health and updated funeral plans.”
