Armed assailants assaulted the Zone 5 area of the Kubwa Extension 2 Relocation Estate along Arab Road in the Federal Capital Territory on Sunday night. During the incident, they abducted a woman and her three children, including a six-month-old baby.
According to reports, gunmen struck between 8 pm and 9 pm on Sunday, December 10, shooting indiscriminately and causing pandemonium in the area.
A resident, who opted not to disclose their name, spoke about the situation, mentioning that kidnapping has become a recurring event in the area every December.
He said, “This kidnapping has become a regular occurrence here every December.
According to another resident, “This kidnapping is due to a lack of adequate security in the area. Last night they kidnapped a whole family – a mother and her three children, including a six months old baby here at Zone 5, Kubwa Extension 2 Relocation estate.”
As of now, the FCT Police Command hasn’t said anything officially about what happened.
According to the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, promise to check and give a feedback. “I will find out and get back to you as soon as possible please,” Adeh said.
