Jimmy Wales, the owner of Wikipedia, conveys a powerful message in response to Elon Musk’s billion-dollar proposition to modify the company’s name to “D***ipedia.

Elon Musk And Jimmy Wales

Jimmy Wales, the founder of Wikipedia, made a resolute declaration that the site is ‘not for sale’ after Elon Musk offered $1 billion if they change its name to ‘D***ipedia’.

The billionaire, who has previously accused founder Jimmy Wales of displaying a ‘significant left-wing bias,’ was reacting to Wikipedia’s annual donation appeal.

Tuesday saw the emergence of two funding messages at the top of numerous pages on the site, seemingly in response to Musk. They were titled either ‘Wikipedia: not beholden to anyone but you’ or ‘Wikipedia is not for sale.’

‘We’re sorry to interrupt, but today’s fundraiser won’t last long. Our nonprofit asks for your support,’ it read.

‘Wikipedia was one of the first spaces online where you could learn for free, without ads.’
