Troops in Sokoto State have eliminated a terrorist who was pretending to be a police officer

Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, the Director of Army Public Relations, revealed this in a statement on Thursday, March 21, 2024. He stated that the troops also demolished a house used for treating insurgents.

According to the statement, the terrorist, who often disguised himself as a police officer to carry out criminal activities, was killed in a sting operation on Wednesday, March 20, 2024. The operation was conducted based on credible intelligence, and the suspect was neutralized during a gun battle with the troops.

Furthermore, the troops discovered and destroyed a house used as a hidden facility by insurgent leaders to store drugs and provide medical care to injured insurgents.

In a separate operation against insurgency in Taraba State, troops eliminated another insurgent in Kutoko Village, Takum Local Government Area. This operation led to the recovery of an AK-47 Rifle and a Magazine containing 4 live rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition.
