In Lagos, a man was apprehended for posing as a delivery person while attempting to steal vehicle components, including brainboxes.

In Lagos, the Lagos State Police Command recently arrested a 27-year-old man named Ogbonna Eze for his alleged involvement in a car parts theft ring.

Eze is said to have been disguising himself as a dispatch rider to steal various vehicle components, particularly targeting brain boxes.

During a press conference held on Tuesday, October 17, the spokesperson of the command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, revealed that on September 18, 2023, the police received reports of Eze’s activities. He had been masquerading as a dispatch rider, utilizing this cover to vandalize vehicles and remove crucial parts. Swiftly responding to the information, the police apprehended Eze.

In a related incident, on October 10, 2023, at approximately 0130hrs, acting on credible intelligence, the police detained a group of individuals dressed in military uniforms who were involved in theft at a motor park in Surulere. Their primary target was the theft of brain boxes from vehicles.

Hundeyin explained that the Command’s operatives intervened, leading to the arrest of a 30-year-old man, Kelechi Ofo, who was found in possession of three brain boxes, while the rest of the group fled upon spotting the police presence.
