In Delta State, an enraged crowd sets fire to a suspected kidnapper

In the Alihame area of Agbor in Delta State, a suspected kidnapper was set on fire by a mob.

The incident occurred after the Alihame Vigilante Group apprehended nine suspected kidnappers at an incomplete building near the Oriri axis of Agbor-Obi.

This action followed a distress call from a local resident on Saturday, February 24, 2024.

As the news spread, residents from various parts of the community gathered at Board Road, Alihame. The AVG promptly notified the police.

While the suspects were being escorted to the station by the police, the mob managed to grab one of them and pulled him out of the police van, causing him to fall and injure his head on the road.

Seizing the opportunity, the mob viciously attacked the suspected kidnapper, setting him ablaze before the AVG and the police could intervene.

Following the incident, law enforcement recovered six rifles, ammunition, knives, mobile phones, and various clothing items from the suspects.

The recovered items, along with the remaining suspects, were handed over to the police for further investigation and legal action.
