Human trafficking: NSCDC rescues 10 victims in FCT


The NSCDC Federal Capital Territory command intercepted 10 individuals suspected of being human trafficking victims, aged between 24 and 34, including one male and nine females, all claiming to be from Ondo State.

They had each paid eighty thousand naira for their international passports.

Allegedly promised migration abroad for jobs in North Africa and Canada by an unidentified sponsor in Okitipupa, Ondo State, they were apprehended at Zuba motor park, Abuja, upon returning from Minna, Niger State, where they had processed their passports.

FCT Commandant, Olusola Odumosu, warned against illegal migration, highlighting risks of exploitation.

The victims were handed over to NAPTIP for investigation, as NSCDC reaffirmed its commitment to combatting trafficking.
