Didier Drogba, the Chelsea icon, has extended congratulations to Victor Osimhen and Asisat Oshoala for their success at the 2023 Confederation of African Football awards.
Drogba took to his Instagram account on Tuesday to commemorate the victories of Osimhen and Oshoala by sharing their photos.
In his post, he wrote, “Long live the new King and Queen of Africa @victorosimhen9 @asisat_oshoala @caf_online
“Congratulations my Nigerian People, we are waiting for you in January @afcon_2023”
The Super Eagles striker won Nigeria’s Player of the Year title after beating tough competition from Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi and Egypt’s Mo Salah.
It’s Nigeria’s first win in 24 years. Meanwhile, Oshoala secured her sixth Women’s Player of the Year award at the CAF Awards 2023.
