Pastor David Musa, a priest connected to the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), was brutally assassinated by gunmen in Kogi State, who took N1 million in ransom.

It was reported that he was killed on Tuesday night following the gunmen’s successful ransom collection of N1 million from his family. On Wednesday morning, the church’s social media network broke the news of his murder.

The brief statement says, “It is with a heavy heart, but in total submission to the will of God, I write to inform you that the abductors of our brother, Pastor Musa David, have killed him after collecting a ransom of one million naira last night. Let our prayers be with the family, the Church, and the DCC in this trying moment.”

During the Kogi State governorship election on Saturday, November 11, there were first reports of Pastor David Musa’s kidnapping. It is said that he was kidnapped in the Obajana region.

The late Pastor, who had previously served as the director of ECWA Bishara, Ajaokuta, met a grisly death, which increased fear in his church and among the state’s general public.

Notably, there has been an increase in instability along the Lokoja/Obajana/Kabba Road. This path is regularly traversed by gunmen who commit kidnappings and add to the growing number of casualties.
