Tijani Babangida, former Super Eagles player, has expressed his belief that South Africa will not hinder the Super Eagles’ pursuit of claiming the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations title.
The upcoming semi-final clash between the Super Eagles and the Bafana Bafana on Wednesday, February 7 at the Stade de la Paix, Bouaké will determine which team advances to face either Ivory Coast or Congo in the final.
Babangida emphasized the importance of the Super Eagles maintaining the same level of confidence and determination they displayed against Angola in their previous match to overcome South Africa.
“Even before the tournament began, the nation lacked confidence in you, but you have built that confidence yourselves. You now firmly believe that you will win the Cup, and nothing will stand in your way,” Babangida stated in an interview on Channels Television.
“Just as you demonstrated against Angola, it’s your confidence and discipline that will lead you to victory against South Africa. Despite their boasting, no team will impede your progress. We eagerly await your return with the cup to Abuja, and by the grace of God, you will emerge victorious.”
