The leadership of the All-Progressives Congress (APC) UK Chapter has opposed the planned protest against President Bola Tinubu in London, calling it a misadventure.
Tunde Doherty, who serves as the Chairman of the UK branch of the governing party, disclosed this information in a statement released on Friday, November 3, 2023, from Lagos.
Doherty, serving as the APC Committee of Diaspora Chairmen, found it necessary to address the recent accusations and declarations from a faction led by Aisha Yesufu, an activist and Labour Party advocate. This faction had declared their plan to organize a London protest to scrutinize President Bola Tinubu’s educational credentials.
“It has come to our attention that this group is organizing a protest in London to spread baseless claims about the educational credentials of President Bola Tinubu.
“We firmly believe our responsibility is to address this matter and underscore the significance of relying on substantiated facts over premature and unsubstantiated allegations,”
“President Bola Tinubu, a seasoned and distinguished statesman, has a long and illustrious track record of serving our great nation, ” Doherty stated.
“Throughout his career, he has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the betterment of Nigeria and its people.
Doherty proceeded to emphasize that the claims of fraudulent certificates not only lack substantial proof but also erode the principles of democracy and equitable political dialogue that they value deeply.
