Angola announced on Thursday its intention to withdraw from the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) due to a disagreement over production quotas.

This move follows the oil cartel’s recent decision to reduce output further in the coming year, as reported by AFP today.

Mineral Resources and Petroleum Minister Diamantino Azevedo informed state broadcaster TPA, “Angola has decided to leave.

” We think the time has come for our country to be more focused on our goals.”
