In Zimbabwe, a 34-year-old woman was arrested for fatally stabbing her husband’s girlfriend after catching them together in her matrimonial home.
The incident, which shocked the Mkoba community in Gweru’s Mkoba Village 14, occurred on Saturday night, February 10, 2024.
The suspect, Stacy Thokozani Mkhandla, had been attending an all-night church prayer when she received a tip-off from neighbors about her husband’s infidelity.
Upon returning home, Mkhandla found her husband, Tafadzwa Munyoro, and his girlfriend, Brightness Nancy Phiri, in their bedroom.
Mkhandla attempted to stab Phiri with a kitchen knife, but Munyoro intervened and disarmed her.
Subsequently, Mkhandla retrieved another knife from the kitchen and fatally stabbed Phiri multiple times. Despite Phiri’s attempt to escape, she collapsed on the street and succumbed to her injuries.
The police arrived at the scene and arrested Mkhandla, who is now in custody, while Phiri’s body was taken to Gweru Provincial Hospital.
