A woman is facing trial in court for the murder of her boyfriend, who was married.

woman has been brought before the court on allegations of murdering her boyfriend, Edward Chakanetsa, who was married.

Sharon Chidamba, a 40-year-old Zimbabwean woman, has been brought before the court on allegations of murdering her boyfriend, Edward Chakanetsa, who was married.

The incident reportedly took place at Chidamba’s residence in Chitungwiza on Christmas Day the previous year.

Chidamba stands accused of assaulting Chakanetsa with an unidentified object, resulting in a fractured skull that ultimately caused his death.

The tragic sequence of events unfolded during a disagreement that arose during their drinking session.

Chidamba’s arrest on January 6 came after suspicions were raised by Chakanetsa’s relatives.

Prior to her apprehension, she provided conflicting statements to the deceased’s family, who suspected foul play in the circumstances surrounding Chakanetsa’s death.

One of Chidamba’s explanations suggested that Chakanetsa had ingested rat poison, and she claimed to have rushed him to a local hospital where he later passed away.

However, suspicions mounted, prompting the family to file a police report and initiate investigations into the man’s death.

A subsequent post-mortem examination revealed that Chakanetsa’s cause of death was blunt force trauma, not rat poison ingestion as initially suggested by Chidamba.

This revelation led to formal charges of murder being brought against her and the commencement of her trial.

Chidambaram, who was granted bail set at $100, made an appearance at the Chitungwiza Magistrates’ Court, where the state presented its case.

She is set to return for further court proceedings as the police continue their investigations into the murder case.
