An online travel agency, TravelTank, last week, organised its maiden affiliate forum.
The forum held at the Golden Tulip Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos State.
Present at the event were the Chief Executive Officer, TravelTank, Mr Yemi Smith; Affiliate Manager, Mr Jones Chukwuma; the company’s Visa and Holiday Shark, Mrs Ngozi Ogwuoke, and just short of 50 affiliates – the pioneers of the programme.
The affiliate programme was launched in September 2021 to mitigate the increase of travel demands in the post-pandemic period as well as to provide travel lovers and pundits an opportunity to generate income.
In the first month of its inauguration, not less than 100 affiliates signed up.
However, by the end of the next quarter, the number had quadrupled.
During the opening address, the CEO, Smith, said, “Through this forum, we are creating a space to connect deeply with our affiliates on a personal level.
“They have truly been the support vehicle driving us closer to achieving our vision of providing travel opportunities for everyone. The business, values, contributions and suggestions they bring to the us is nothing short of incredible.”
The Affiliate Manager, Jones Chukwuma, also said, “We identify our affiliates as partners working together towards a common goal – to make travel planning and booking cheap easy and affordable for everyone.
“We want the travel industry to flourish not based on profit-making but through value-based services and open communication.
“For us at TravelTank, the pandemic did not expose the vulnerability of the industry but opened more doors to bigger opportunities. Our affiliate programme was established to place those opportunities in the spotlight for those who really need them.
“TravelTank’s affiliate online platform is just one part of the tools we provide to get our third-party partners as comfortable as possible in delivering the best services to their clients. We plan to continually review the platform through timely feedback exercises to ensure they get the best user experience.
“Through this forum, we want to celebrate the dedicated and admirable efforts of our affiliates, reappraise past success and strengthen our relationships further. This forum is just the foundation for greater things to come.”
“At the conclusion of the forum, quizzes and raffle draws were organised with lucky affiliates bagging free flight tickets and cash prizes sponsored by South African Airways and technology partner, Travelport (Galileo) respectively.
“Additionally, United Airlines, another travel partner, pledged a free class upgrade for customers who book a certain volume of tickets till the end of the year.”
