The Imo State chapter of the Peter Obi Presidential Campaign Organisation has said that the Peoples Democratic Party and All Progressives Congress presidential candidates would not get votes in the state in 2023.
The organisation said that the Labour Party candidate, Peter Obi would win all the votes in the state.
The state coordinator of the organisation, Fabian Ihekweme, in a statement on Saturday, said that the group was not interested in the politics going on in LP but was committed to ensuring that Obi wins all the votes in the state come February 25, 2023.
The statement read in part, “There is no debate to the fact that there is no conflict of interest between party administration and campaign council in any flourishing democracy anywhere in the world.
“It is the prerogative of a nominated candidate of a political party to set up his or her own campaign team. The party plays little or no role in some cases when it comes to the determination of the key actors in any campaign council at any level.
“Imo State was recently used as a test case on how a befitting campaign council should be constituted, and it has been widely acknowledged that the Imo State example should be replicated across the country.’’
